When God created light, He created it for you. He created light so that you, the pinnacle of His creation, could see His love. He created the light so that you could see the majesty of the mountains, the expanse of the oceans and see just a touch of the power and magnitude of His love. He created the light so you could see the beauty of the forests, the glory of the animal kingdom and see a reflection of His beautiful, glorious love for you. But above all, God created the light so that you, like Adam, could see Him in the garden, so you gaze upon His life and see your Father.

But then the darkness came. Adam and Eve walked away from the light with their disobedience and the beauty and majesty, the glory and power was concealed from their eyes and from ours. Now, in this world of sin, in this world of blindness and thick clouds, our eyes that were created to see the light can only see sorrow and pain, failure and death, misery and condemnation.

But today, we begin our journey out of the darkness with the true Light. Today, we follow the Lamb on His exodus to Jerusalem, on His path to Calvary. So walk with him. Follow the Lamb, the Lamp, the Light as He goes to the cross. Let go of your sins, and as His face shines, see that this is the very Son of God who will burn those sins into nothing. See from His shining face that this is the Son of God who will destroy the power that darkness and condemnation has over you. Then, from the cross, follow Him to the empty tomb. And as He walks out of the grave, see from His bright, shining face that He has placed you into the new and greater garden. See that He has delivered you into a paradise where the mountains and the oceans, the trees and the animals all glorify the God who created you. Follow Christ, and from His light He will bless you to once again gaze upon the face of the Father whose love for you was never extinguished.
