It’s a wonderful thing how the Psalms immediately begin with Jesus. There is no man who can say he does not walk in the counsel of the wicked–no man but the virgin born Son of God, born with no wickedness in His heart and who lived with no wickedness in His hands. There is no man who can say he doesn’t walk in the way of sinners–no man but the sinless, spotless lamb of God who walked the road to Calvary. Blessed is that man.

And because that Lamb of God laid down His life for you, blessed are you too. Because the Son of God who came to conquer wickedness has done so, then you now share His blessings. You share His kingdom. You share His inheritance. Because Jesus Christ delighted in the law of the Lord, because He fulfilled that law for you, then you have received the fruit from His tree, the fruit of salvation, the fruit of divine love, the fruit of your Father’s eternal favor.

So don’t fear. When the wicked perish in the judgment, you will not perish with them because you are not wicked. Through faith in Jesus Christ, you have been clothed in His goodness, His perfection. The One who prospered, the One who rose from the grave will bless you to share in His victory over death. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked. And blessed are you to enter the counsel and kingdom of Jesus Christ and live with Him forever.
